Wow! I can't believe how long it's been since my last post. We have all been suffering through a serious bout of the flu. My DH had it first and then lovingly passed it on to the rest of us. Anyway, we are almost completely over it now with just a lingering cough and sore throats. I have been trying in vain to create some scrapbook layouts and they have been few and far in between. I have also attempted to make a few prayer cards, but again, I've only had the creativity and energy to make one. I hate the feeling of knowing what I want to accomplish and yet getting so bogged down in the details that I can't even get started. It's been a completely frustrating process.
On the bright side, my completely brainiac daughter can name all the animals in her book and she's not even two yet!! Praise the Lord! I have made a bit more progress on her book - the one where the animals, shapes, numbers, and colors are listed in English and Japanese (this is a huge blessing as I was figuring I would never see any progress). And my wonderfully talented son is doing all that he can to focus on school (he is an A student) and get accepted into a awesome University- I believe his choices for the moment are VMI and The Air Force Academy. I still pray that he would think about Bible College, but wherever the Lord leads him, I'm glad he will follow.
These past few weeks the Lord has really humbled me and brought some things to pass both personally and professionally that at first blush I was truly caught off guard. But after some serious "closet time" (prayer time) I realize that even God doesn't necessarily bring it to pass, He just allows it to pass (I Thess. 5:18). And often times, we may never even know the true reason for the trial until we see our Savior in Heaven and He reveals it to us then. The Bible is full of passages that start "And it came to pass..." Praise God that it didn't come to stay!!
Lastly, as you go about your day, please pray for my dm and two da's as they each are going through a difficult time and are unsure as to which direction God would have them to go. Please pray that they would seek His Word, way, and wisdom, and not be easily discouraged by the fiery trials that will come their way - for our Lord Jesus Christ warned us ahead of time(I Peter 4:11-13).
Hope you enjoy the pics of the kids. God bless you.
